CKD Treatment Options in the U.S.

Chronic kidney disease treatment focuses on slowing progression, managing complications, and treating the underlying cause — there is currently no treatment, conventional or complementary, that reliably reverses established chronic kidney disease. Any source claiming otherwise is worth treating with real caution.

Where does Ayurvedic care fit?

Some people explore Ayurveda as a complementary approach to wellbeing alongside their medical treatment. Nisarg Ayurveda's consultations look at three areas commonly discussed in classical Ayurvedic practice in relation to kidney health: dietary pattern, daily routine and lifestyle factors, and any herbs or formulations the person is already using or considering.

What a consultation typically involves

A consultation starts with your current situation — your CKD stage or recent results if you have them, your medical history and current medications, and what you're hoping to get from Ayurvedic support. From there, discussion generally covers general Ayurvedic dietary principles alongside any renal diet advice from your medical team, lifestyle factors, and, where relevant, traditionally used herbs such as Punarnava, Gokshura, or Varuna — always with the caveat that individual suitability varies and any herbal product should be discussed with your doctor or pharmacist first, since CKD changes how the body processes many substances.

We do not claim that Ayurvedic consultation cures, reverses, or replaces treatment for chronic kidney disease. It's offered as an additional, complementary source of support for people who want it, run alongside — never instead of — your prescribed medical care.

When to seek medical help

New swelling, very little urine, severe breathlessness, chest pain, confusion, or persistent vomiting are reasons to seek urgent medical care, not to wait for a scheduled appointment.
